- Honey – Ginger Cough Syrup
- Recipe: Peel and finely grate a small piece of fresh ginger (about 1 inch). Mix the grated ginger with 2 tablespoons of honey in a small bowl. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
- Use: Sip as hot as you can manage, twice daily to reduce fever and soothe the throat.
- Caution: Avoid if you have a sensitive stomach or ulcers.
- Salt Water Gargle
- Recipe: Dissolve 1 teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water (about 8 ounces). Stir well until the salt is fully dissolved
- Use: Gargle with this solution for about 30 seconds, twice daily to ease a sore throat. Spit out the solution after gargling.
- Caution: Avoid swallowing the saltwater

- Onion-Honey Cough Reliever
- Recipe: Thinly slice one medium onion and place the slices in a bowl. Pour enough honey over the slices to cover them. Let the mixture sit for 4-6 hours, or overnight, until a syrup forms at the bottom
- Use: Consume a teaspoon of this syrup as needed for cough relief.
- Caution: Not suitable for children under 1 year.
- Turmeric-Ghee Paste
- Recipe: In a small bowl, mix 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder with 1 teaspoon of warm ghee to form a paste. Stir until well combined.
- Use: Take this mixture before bed to help calm a persistent cough.
- Caution: Use in moderation due to the high-fat content in ghee.
- Garlic and Honey
- Recipe: Crush 2-3 garlic cloves and mix with 1 tablespoon of honey.
- Use: Consume twice daily to combat flu symptoms.
- Caution: May cause heartburn or discomfort if taken on an empty stomach.
- Pepper-Cumin Concoction
- Recipe: Boil 1 cup of water in a small pot. Add 1/2 teaspoon of black peppercorns and 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds to the boiling water. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes. Strain the liquid into a cup and add a pinch of salt.
- Use: Drink this concoction warm to alleviate cold symptoms.
- Caution: May be too strong for those with a sensitive stomach.
